Senior Data Engineer - Investment Management Reporting

This role is with a DeWinter Investment Management Partner

Boston, MA - Hybrid Role - We are targeting local candidates that can be in the Boston office 3 days per week.

12 Month + contract (or contract to hire, if desired)

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Data Engineer with strong experience in investment management reporting systems to support a long-term project involving the migration from Vision FI to Coric. This role is critical to building data architecture, designing data marts, and supporting robust, client-facing reporting functionality for investment accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead data analysis, modeling, and integration to support client reporting needs.
Design and develop data marts and pipelines tailored for investment data (accounts, holdings, benchmarks, securities, performance).
Collaborate with business stakeholders to define 'data blocks' without detailed documentation.
Work closely with RESTful APIs to access and transform source data from portfolio accounting and performance systems.
Contribute to a small, agile team supporting cross-functional business needs.

Required Skills:

5+ years of experience in financial services technology, ideally investment management.
Hands-on experience with client reporting tools (Coric, Vermilion, or Vision FI).
Strong understanding of investment data concepts: holdings, securities, benchmarks, performance attribution.
Proven track record in data architecture and data warehouse design (data marts, Snowflake, Iceberg, etc.).
Python scripting for data transformation and integration.
Comfortable working in lightly documented environments - able to gather requirements from SMEs and reverse engineer logic as needed.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently.

Nice to Have:

Prior experience working on Coric implementations.
Familiarity with Apache Iceberg and modern data lake architectures.
Experience supporting client reporting projects for institutional asset managers or wealth platforms.
