JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this contracted position the candidate will be asked to step in and take on a user interface (UI) developer role. The candidate will be asked to work closely with the existing project team members on a number of tasks which allow us to complete our in-flight Newsprint Reporting (NPR) project. The NPR project will allow us to sunset several legacy systems currently being used to track and report newsprint inventory at our internally owned print plants. The project also involves keeping track of our contracted printing partners' abilities to print our nightly editions. Newsprint, being the largest expense in the print business, makes the NPR project critical to ensuring efficient business processes while also maintaining our ability to get a print product to our subscribers. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing reports for purposes of data analysis and business intelligence, preferably using SQL Server Reporting Services
Web design (UI/UX) and development using ASP .Net-Core and Telerik HTML/JavaScript Kendo UI widgets
Creating and executing unit, functional, destructive and performance tests
Oversee security frameworks for user and services authorization and authentication
Coordinate relational databases via SQL Server, optimistic concurrency control and web page syncing
Utilize modern debugging and root cause analysis techniques
Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS
Manage and use automated software deployment from GitHub and Jenkins
Act as support for software development lifecycles
