Network Administrator
Location: Austin, Texas
Hourly Pay Rate: $30-38
Hours: Monday - Friday: Fully Onsite - Golden, Colorado,

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to support and maintain the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures the network operates efficiently, securely, and is scalable for future growth. The position will collaborate closely with IT team members, including the Senior Network Engineer, and will play a critical role in daily operations, user support, and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Deploy, maintain, and support network hardware such as routers, switches, wireless controllers, and firewalls following industry best practices.
Troubleshoot and maintain VoIP and voice communication systems.
Coordinate with third-party ISPs and external vendors as needed.
Conduct regular network security reviews and assist with mitigation efforts.
Diagnose and resolve network issues in a timely manner, often under tight deadlines.
Manage and support firewall and VPN systems, as well as other security tools.
Help establish procedures and controls to safeguard network assets and data integrity.
Develop and maintain clear and accurate network documentation.
Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to potential threats.
Oversee network performance, resource utilization, and availability to ensure uptime and scalability.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices through ongoing learning.
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to end users across various IT systems.
Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing related to network continuity.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise-grade network systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with firewall configuration and maintenance; familiarity with Palo Alto and Cisco ASA is preferred.
Hands-on experience installing and supporting Cisco networking gear; wireless expertise with Extreme Networks and/or Meraki is a plus.
Ability to document, analyze, and communicate network designs and proposed improvements.
Solid understanding of VLANs, enterprise wireless networks, and campus network infrastructure.
Familiarity with VoIP systems and enterprise voice network design.
Working knowledge of networking protocols and services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, FTP, SMTP, and Active Directory integration.
Proficiency in managing remote access tools and VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL VPN, AnyConnect, etc.).
Enthusiastic about mentoring junior team members and supporting their development.
Experience operating in a 24/7 environment or supporting large-scale, multi-site networks is beneficial.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Self-starter capable of learning new technologies independently using documentation and online tools.
