About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Access Network Engineer with over 10 years of experience to join a dynamic team supporting a critical telecom project in Newbury. This is an onsite contract role where you will play a key role in network optimization, performance management, and troubleshooting across 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE/5G technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead radio optimization processes, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and improvement recommendations.
Manage network performance data, anomaly detection, and reporting using tools like Atoll, MapInfo, and OSS.
Conduct drive test analysis, coverage mapping, and EMF compliance reporting.
Oversee site shutdown analysis, database consistency checks, and special project rollouts.
Collaborate with offshore/onshore teams, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
Provide expert insights on Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei equipment, parameters, and features.
Essential Requirements:
Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of RAN engineering experience with deep expertise in 4G, VoLTE, and 5G (SA/NSA).
Proficiency in radio site planning, link budget, and logical configuration (power, tilt, bands, etc.).
Strong analytical skills with expertise in KPI formulas, performance tools, and Business Intelligence dashboards.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and client management skills.
Must be available to work onsite in Newbury daily.
Preferred Qualifications:
Vendor certifications (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei).
Experience with European/US mobile operators in planning, optimization, and RCA.
Adaptability, team spirit, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
