About The Role
We're seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our early-stage health tech startup that is reimagining the provider model through AI-driven care delivery. In this role, you'll lead the design and evolution of our cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and developer tooling to support a secure, scalable, and efficient engineering ecosystem.
Competitive target compensation based on experience (220k-250k+ plus strong equity), strong benefits and a hybrid NYC location.
Responsibilities
Own and lead all infrastructure and DevOps initiatives end-to-end, from strategy and architecture through implementation and scaling.
Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines across all environments: development, testing, staging, and production.
Improve and maintain developer environments and workflows, ensuring a seamless developer experience.
Drive observability and monitoring across the stack with appropriate logging, metrics, and alerting.
Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure pain points; introduce best practices and automation to reduce operational overhead.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, ML and Product teams to ensure DevOps alignment with broader company goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Proven experience in a lead or senior DevOps role, with a track record of owning major infrastructure initiatives.
Deep expertise with AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CDK).
Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native architecture, and developer tooling.
Familiarity with cloud data stores (e.g., Postgres, S3) and data pipeline management.
Excellent collaboration skills with experience leading cross-functional efforts.
Strong grasp of infrastructure monitoring and cost optimization.
Strong Additional Qualifications
Healthcare data or health tech experience
Fullstack development experience (especially JS/TS/Node)
Data engineering and MLOps background
Previous experience at a high-growth startup or consultancy
Experience managing compliance-heavy environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2)
