Job Description
We are seeking Business Analyst 2 professionals with strong experience in Social Services Applications (SSA). This role involves highly complex business analysis and requirements gathering for eligibility systems and related technologies. The selected candidates will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, translating them into functional and technical requirements that align with overall business strategies.
The Business Analyst will also support continuous process improvement initiatives, provide production support, and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure system functionality meets both business and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
Serve as a senior-level analyst for SSA eligibility systems, providing expertise in business rules, requirements, and technical specifications.
Analyze policies and procedures to determine system impacts and align requirements with automation systems.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define business requirements.
Prepare concise business requirements, technical specifications, solution options, and related documentation.
Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for IT systems and processes.
Perform peer reviews of business requirement documentation, test plans, and project deliverables.
Support audit requests by producing documentation and subject matter expertise.
Participate in process improvement initiatives by analyzing performance data and recommending improvements.
Provide production support and technical assistance to SSA system users.
Prepare and present project reports and updates to leadership, including executive management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
4+ years mentoring and providing consultation to SSA staff.
4+ years analyzing and interpreting technical information, including regulations, policies, and system documentation.
4+ years writing technical and business documentation, translating user needs into system requirements.
4+ years planning and coordinating individual and group work activities.
4+ years diagnosing and troubleshooting application problems.
4+ years creating technical designs and business requirements documentation.
Strong ability to work professionally with diverse stakeholders.
Proven experience preparing concise business requirements, technical specifications, and related artifacts.
Additional Information
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM CT (excluding state holidays).
Onsite/Remote: Hybrid (2 days onsite: Monday & Friday, 3 days remote).
Local Candidates Only: Must currently reside within 50 miles of Austin, TX. Relocation or out-of-state applicants will not be considered.
Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required with prior approval.
