About the Data & Analytics Intern Role:
Sands Capital is seeking a motivated Data and Analytics Intern who aspires to become a data professional and who is interested in gaining practical experience in data governance, data quality, and analytics. The person in this role will have the opportunity to explore the role of data as an enterprise asset and apply governance practices to build a business-aligned, KPI-driven data visualization along with a practical emphasis on AI readiness, governance, and ethical deployment of AI-enabled insights.
Work Expectations:
This is a part-time internship role expected to work in-person from Sands Capital's office headquarters in Arlington, VA for up to 17 hours per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays.
Position Responsibilities:
Exploring the lifecycle of data from ingestion to insight within a governed framework.
Building a governed Power BI visualization targeting a real Sands Capital KPI.
Performing other position responsibilities, as needed; and
Exhibiting behaviors consistent with Sands Capital's Mission, Values, and culture.
Position Qualifications:
2nd, 3rd, or 4th year undergraduate students interested in exploring a career in data and analytics.
Familiarity with core principles of data governance, data quality, and metadata.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, Atlan, Git, DBT, Snowflake, OpenAI, and Python.

Salary and Benefits:
Sands Capital offers competitive compensation. For this role, the hourly rate ranges from $25 - $35/hour and will be determined by the candidate's grade level as well as relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Sands Capital may also offer generous benefits for interns who meet the relevant eligibility criteria as determined by Sands Capital's benefit plan documents.
