Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an AI Consultant (Product Owner / Business Systems Analyst) to step in immediately and drive their Gen AI Product Catalog Tool initiative forward. This is a hands-on, business-facing technologist role where you will act as the voice of the CIO, bridging the gap between developers and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a Gen AI enthusiast--actively experimenting with or building solutions leveraging LLMs, agentic frameworks, and AI-driven automation.
This person is not here to run the SDLC--that responsibility sits with their outsourced development partner. Instead, you will push the limits of what's possible, inspire creativity, and maintain relentless momentum toward delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as Product Owner / BSA for the Gen AI Product Catalog Tool project, representing executive vision.
Act as bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams--clarifying requirements, ensuring alignment, and keeping delivery focused.
Provide hands-on expertise in Gen AI (LLMs, agents, automation frameworks), applying real-world experimentation to challenge and inspire development partners.
Counterbalance conservative development approaches by bringing a slightly over-optimistic "what's possible" mindset grounded in proven experience.
Maintain strong communication with business leaders, rallying teams around objectives and timelines.
Step into multiple roles as needed--PM, liaison, product owner, motivator--to keep the initiative on track.
Guide requirements, test ideas, and validate feasibility with a mix of business acumen and technical insight.
Push the team to the extreme of what is possible with AI, while keeping delivery practical and achievable.
Qualifications:
Proven experience building and implementing applications in business environments (B2B or enterprise software preferred).
Deep hands-on expertise with Gen AI technologies, including experimentation with LLMs, agentic workflows, or AI-powered tools--professionally or via personal projects.
Strong business analysis skills: requirement gathering, stakeholder management, process documentation.
Charismatic communicator who can connect with both business users and developers.
Comfortable acting as a visionary and motivator, not just documenting requirements.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), but not positioned as the SDLC manager.
Experience in fast-paced delivery environments with ambitious timelines (proof-of-concept - production within 6 months).
Entrepreneurial, consultant, or independent contributor background is highly valued.

Slightly over-optimistic visionary - sees what AI can do and motivates teams to aim higher.
Bridge-builder - able to win trust with business stakeholders and inspire technical developers.
Independent & "All-In" - sharp, world-experienced, potentially a consultant or solo practitioner already immersed in AI.
Los Angeles-based - must be available for occasional/hybrid onsite collaboration with our business teams. (San Fernando Valley area)
Engagement Details:
Contract / Consulting Engagement - not a full-time permanent hire at this stage.
Duration: Initial 6-month engagement aligned with project delivery timeline.
Location: San Fernando Valley area (hybrid).
