Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Information Systems Manager to oversee the company's technology operations and support of approximately 200 staff across our home improvement and construction supply business. This role requires a mix of technical ability and leadership--someone who can roll up their sleeves to resolve day-to-day IT issues while also guiding longer-term strategy to optimize existing technology outsourcing and improve cost efficiency. We maintain a clean, modern technology environment that supports efficiency and innovation, and we're looking for someone who will take ownership of IT, introduce automation and new tools, and help drive the business forward as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

* Supervise, mentor and grow a small IT team as well as manage and direct our Managed Service Provider (MSP).

* Step in directly to resolve complex IT issues when required.

* Foster a collaborative, high-performance IT culture.

* Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities where technology, automation, and data can drive efficiency and growth.

Security & Risk Management

* Implement and maintain practical, cost-effective cybersecurity measures.

* Monitor threats and ensure compliance with best practices.

* Educate staff on secure technology use.

Data Recovery & Continuity

* Develop, test, and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.

* Ensure systems and data can be restored quickly during outages.

Hardware & Infrastructure Oversight

* Manage servers, networking equipment, and endpoints.

* Lead system upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting.

* Reduce dependence on MSP for routine tasks.

Business Intelligence & Analytics

* Support leadership with reporting and data analytics tools.

* Ensure accuracy and accessibility of data used for business decisions.

Vendor & Budget Management

* Manage vendor contracts and relationships.

* Audit license usage (M365, backups, security tools) to optimize costs.

* Recommend IT investments and oversee the IT budget.

End-User Support & Enablement

* Ensure timely resolution of support tickets and staff issues.

* Provide training and guidance to improve adoption of IT tools.

* Act as the go-to resource for IT troubleshooting when required.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

* 5+ years of IT operations experience, with some supervisory responsibility.

* Strong technical knowledge of networks, servers, and cybersecurity.

* Hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 and related platforms.

* Comfortable both executing IT tasks directly and advising leadership on strategy.
