This role is a great opportunity to join one of the world's largest energy and commodities trading firms. This global commodities firm trades in all of the major commodity asset classes and puts a major emphasis on technology within the firm to deliver multi-asset-class commodity systems.

As a Senior Java Developer here, you will be a hands-on technologies working side-by-side with risk and trading teams to create solutions and leverage your skillset in risk modelling, analytics, and market data. You must have expertise with Java, Kafka, and cloud technologies in a financial environment.

Though this role is highly technical, you must also be an excellent communicator. This opportunity will require you to work closely with business teams to gather requirements and show your knowledge of the space from a business perspective.

You will get to work on many greenfield applications, including a risk platform. You will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance risk technology systems and will drive innovation and continuous improvement. Experience with Spring boot, CI/CD tools, and SQL are a plus.

You will also have the opportunity to mentor more junior developers on the team, so you will ideally have 7+ years of experience.

This is a full-time role based in Houston with a high level of visibility and ownership.
