Iris's client, one of the world's largest multinational Investment banking and financial services corporation is looking to hire a Java Architect - API Integration for a Long-Term opportunity.

Work Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid Onsite - 4 day's a week)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Architect with deep expertise in API integration to design, develop, and oversee robust, scalable Java-based solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving architectural decisions, integrating third-party systems, and ensuring the high performance and responsiveness of applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and architecture of Java-based enterprise applications and microservices.
Develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP APIs with internal and external systems.
Define best practices and standards for API development, security, and integration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Business Analysts) to gather requirements and ensure architectural alignment.
Conduct code and design reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams.
Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and frameworks aligned with the architectural vision.
Ensure system scalability, availability, and performance through effective design strategies.
Stay updated with new technologies and trends in Java development and API integration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development, with at least 3 years in an architect or lead role.
Strong experience with API design, development, and integration (RESTful and SOAP).
Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).
Familiarity with API Gateways (e.g., Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway).
Experience in microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
Proficient in database design and integration (SQL and NoSQL).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
