About the Role

Join Samay Consulting's dynamic team as a Lead Backend Java Engineer! This is a unique opportunity to architect and build cutting-edge solutions in a collaborative, hybrid work environment based in Seattle.

Technical Skills & Experience Required

Expertise in Java and Spring Boot Framework (recent hands-on experience)
Proficiency with AWS services (Aurora, S3, EC2, Lambda, Athena)
Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)
Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Hands-on experience with Big Data processing (Spark, Hive)
Proficiency in test automation (Unit, Integration, Regression, Load)
Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Terraform)
Experience with observability tools (New Relic, Splunk, CloudWatch)
Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka, SQS) and patterns
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with event sourcing patterns
Background in Retail or Finance domains
Familiarity with GCP data services
Experience with Airflow and Python for batch scheduling

What You'll Do

Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java Spring Boot
Build and optimize microservices on AWS
Implement event-driven architectures with Kafka
Manage and enhance Big Data pipelines
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during monthly in-person Seattle syncs
Drive all phases of the software development lifecycle

Requirements

8+ years of professional Java development experience
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to participate in monthly in-person collaboration in Seattle
