Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Castle Donington - 3 Days On site

Contract: Outside IR35

Type: Full-Time

The Role

This is a contract role expected to last between 6 - 12 months with the successful candidate will be designing a range of fabrications and static components used in turbomachinery applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
Generate engineering drawings.
Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
Preparation of engineering design reports.
Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
Proficiency in NX software is essential.
Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
Experience designing turbomachinery static components, casings, piping and structures is essential.
Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
