Job Specifications

Shift is the leading AI platform for insurance. Shift combines generative, agentic, and predictive AI to transform underwriting, claims, and fraud and risk - driving operational efficiency, exceptional customer experiences and measurable business impact. Trusted by the world's leading insurers, Shift delivers AI when and where it matters most, at scale and with proven results.

Our culture is built on innovation, trust, and a drive to transform the insurance industry through our SaaS platform. We come from more than 50 different countries and cultures and together we are creating the future of insurance.

We're hiring a Technical Product Manager to lead the platform efforts that power our frontend user experience. You'll be responsible for our design system and shared UI components working with design, engineering, and product teams to ensure our interfaces are consistent, accessible, performant, and easy to build with.

This is a platform role with a highly visible impact: the components and standards you help shape will be used across all our customer-facing interfaces. You'll define the roadmap for evolving our design system, improving the developer experience for frontend teams, and ensuring that UI consistency scales as our products grow.

You'll work at the intersection of UX, engineering and product, bringing structure and strategy to a space that blends creative design with technical depth. The role requires a mix of platform thinking, stakeholder alignment, and delivery focus.

We trust talent, which means you'll be empowered to lead from day one. You'll work with some of the smartest people in the industry, and you'll be part of a culture that believes in learning fast, improving constantly, and getting things done.

What You'll Do...Design System & Component Strategy
Act as Product owner for your teams and own the roadmap for shared UI components and design system evolution
Work with design to define principles, usage standards, and interaction patterns
Partner with engineering to ensure components are performant, flexible, and easy to maintain

Prioritise work based on design debt, reusability, and product team feedback

Developer Experience & Adoption
Improve onboarding, documentation, and tooling for engineers using shared UI assets
Define versioning and change management strategies that balance innovation with stability

Track adoption and satisfaction, and adjust based on real-world usage

Cross-Functional Alignment
Act as the connective tissue between design, engineering, and product teams
Ensure component design and usage align with product goals and user expectations

Proactively surface trade-offs and risks across teams, and help drive resolution

Execution & Continuous Improvement
Coordinate delivery across frontend, platform, and design teams
Define clear success metrics (e.g. adoption, usability, defect rate, delivery speed)
Contribute to a culture of design and technical excellence across the company

What You Bring...

2-5 years of experience in product or technical program management, ideally on platform, frontend, or design system teams
Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Storybook, Tailwind, etc.)
Strong communication and alignment skills across design and engineering stakeholders
Experience shaping roadmap and adoption strategies for shared components
An eye for consistency and UX quality, even without being a designer yourself
Curiosity, pragmatism, and a desire to create leverage across teams
