Infrastructure Architect; SC cleared, Defence, Azure, AWS, identity, storage, networking, security
Outside IR35 @ PS550 per day
Taunton 2 days travel required
SC clearance is a must have
Architecture & Delivery
End-to-end design/delivery of secure, complex infrastructure at scale
Hybrid architectures: on-prem, cloud (Azure/AWS), and edge/deployable
Enterprise architecture in multi-supplier/multi-platform environments
Deep system integration across compute, storage, network, identity
Security
Designs aligned to Government Security Classification & NCSC standards
Network segmentation, zero-trust principles, key/cert management
Security controls across infra layers (FW/WAF, EDR, SIEM, vulnerability mgmt)
Core Platforms & Tech
Cloud: Azure and/or AWS (landing zones, IAM, networking, HA/DR)
On-prem: VMware/Hyper-V, Windows/Linux, AD/AAD, SAN/NAS, backup/DR
Networking: TCP/IP, routing, VPN, SD-WAN, DNS/DHCP, load balancing
Identity: AD/AAD, Privileged Access Mgmt, SSO/MFA, federation
Observability: logging/metrics/tracing, SIEM/SOAR, performance tuning
Automation & DevOps
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation), Config mgmt (Ansible/DSC)
CI/CD for infra changes, policy-as-code, immutable patterns
Scripting: PowerShell/Python for orchestration and remediation
Ways of Working
Strong Agile/Scrum delivery; collaborates with Designers, Researchers, UX, Product, Dev
Clear documentation (HLD/LLD), risk/impact assessments, change governance
Frameworks & Methods
Familiarity with MODAF/NAF (nice-to-have); TOGAF/ITIL helpful
Reference architectures, capacity planning, cost optimisation/FinOps
Compliance & Resilience
DR/BCP design, multi-region/zone resilience, patching & hardening standards
Asset/config management (CMDB), audit readiness
