About The Role
As a Marketing Data Scientist at Confluent, you will play a vital role in analyzing and optimizing our marketing funnel, measuring campaign effectiveness, and supporting pipeline management. You will work closely with Marketing, Growth, Sales, and Finance teams to explore data, conduct in-depth analyses, and generate actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. Your expertise will help identify high-impact opportunities, improve conversion metrics, and enhance our understanding of the customer journey from awareness to conversion. This role requires a data-driven mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will also contribute to designing and executing experiments, such as A/B tests, to inform continuous improvement initiatives and support our growth objectives.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in Data Science supporting marketing functions, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment
Proficiency in SQL with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in data manipulation and querying
Strong scripting skills in Python or R for data analysis and modeling
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau to create dashboards and reports
Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
Experience with marketing attribution models across channels like SEO, Paid Search, and Social Media
Knowledge of A/B testing frameworks and methodologies
Degree in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, engineering, statistics, or economics (Bachelor's or higher)
Responsibilities
Identify high-impact opportunities through data exploration and generate strategic insights to optimize marketing performance
Define key marketing metrics and develop scalable reporting tools to monitor pipeline health and campaign success
Analyze drivers of key performance indicators such as ROI and Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV) to uncover growth opportunities
Share actionable insights and strategic recommendations with leadership to influence marketing and pipeline strategies
Design and execute A/B tests to evaluate product features, marketing campaigns, and initiatives, providing data-driven guidance for improvements
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer journey, from awareness to conversion, and identify areas for optimization
Collaborate with data scientists and cross-functional teams to share best practices, learn new analytical techniques, and promote data-driven decision making
Support the integration of marketing attribution models and causal inference techniques to enhance measurement accuracy
