JOB OVERVIEW
The Front-end Developer at ABC is responsible for the user interface of our website. The position requires a working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript UI/UX design. This position is expected to provide advanced strategic support to different teams and stakeholders across the association to meet all marketing goals. To ensure all elements of web creation are consistent, the front-end developer will work in teams alongside back-end developers, and graphic designers. Communication and interpersonal skills are a must, with the ability to work independently, multi-task, in a fast-moving environment.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Design and develop prototypes, wireframes, and mockups for application screens and user interfaces, collaborating closely with designers and back-end developers.
Build, test, and maintain scalable, high-quality front-end components and features for the organization's websites and CMS.
Participate in peer code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure clean, maintainable, and secure code.
Develop solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, jQuery, and ASP.Net, along with modern frameworks and libraries as needed.
Ensure web applications are optimized for cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
Assist stakeholders and staff across the organization with website-related issues through the IT ticketing/helpdesk system.
Work with IT, design, and content teams to deliver user-focused solutions that align with organizational priorities.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation for processes, standards, and new features.
Stay up to date with emerging web technologies, tools, and industry best practices to continually improve skillset and team capabilities.
Recommend and implement enhancements to improve the usability, performance, and scalability of web applications.
Other duties as assigned to support the strategic priorities of the Association.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This position offers the option of a hybrid work schedule which will consist of both a required on-site presence and the ability to work remotely on a regular basis.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; technical training and/or certifications may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Minimum of three (3) years hands-on professional experience including with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Adobe Creative Suite, and jQuery.
Specialized Skills
Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript; experience with CMS platforms; skilled in Bootstrap, jQuery, and SASS; working knowledge of JSON and Fetch API.
Strong ability to test, enhance, and debug front-end code to ensure quality and performance.
Expertise in graphic design, wireframing, and video editing (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro).
Familiarity with SEO best practices, accessibility compliance (ADA/WCAG), and responsive design principles.
Experience with version control systems; ability to meet deadlines, track progress, and collaborate effectively across departments.
Strong verbal and written presentation skills; proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of Visual Studio 2019 and GitHub Desktop
Familiarity with DNN (DotNetNuke)
Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and XD
Strong understanding of typography and visual design fundamentals
