Role: Software Engineer (React)

Domain: Energy trading

Day rate: PS600 - 750/d (inside IR35)

Location: London (hybrid - 3 days per week)

Contract: 6 months (Multi-year scope)

X4 Technology are partnered with a global commodity trading firm in London offering an exciting inside IR35 contract opportunity for a Software Engineer (React).

Working within a fast paced energy trading business, you'll build web applications using tools such as React, TypeScript, CSS, Jest/Vitest, Webpack, and AG Grid.

Responsibilities of the Software Engineer (React)

Plays an executional role in design and development projects.
Advises internally on solving functional and technical issues related to web applications.
Provides enterprise technology solution consultation and development.
Manages complex integration scenarios and interfaces between on-premise, cloud, and legacy systems.

Requirements for the Software Engineer (React)

8+ years of experience in JavaScript, React, Redux, TypeScript, Styled Components, React Testing Library, REST APIs.
Demonstrable experience in energy or commodity trading environments.
Experience in modern JavaScript coding, testing, debugging and automation techniques.
Cloud-based software exposure, particularly Azure DevOps, VSTS, and creating CI/CD pipelines.
Strong fundamental software design principles and patterns, with a deep user-centric mindset.
Solid background in computer science.

This is a unique opportunity to join one of London's major commodity trading houses, supporting a significant web application programme. The role is paying PS600-750d on an inside IR35 basis.
