About the Role
The Vice President, Corporate Controller will lead and oversee Roku's global accounting operations and technical accounting, ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and compliance. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's accounting policies, maintaining fiscal records, managing the consolidation process, and preparing internal and external financial reports, including SEC filings. The Controller will also ensure adherence to SOX requirements and provide critical insights to support the company's operating objectives.
As a key leader in the finance organization, the Controller will collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for scaling operations, improving efficiency, and driving financial excellence. This role requires a strategic mindset, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to fostering a strong internal control environment. This role reports to the Chief Accounting Officer.
For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $400,000 - $650,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What You'll Be Doing
Partner closely with the Chief Accounting Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and other senior leaders to provide guidance on financial and accounting matters
Lead the oversight of accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. Safeguard assets and maintain a robust internal control environment
Foster relationships with business and functional leaders across Roku to stay informed of key activities, performance trends, opportunities, and risks
Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders, enhancing financial literacy and decision-making across the company
Serve as the go-to expert for addressing complex accounting issues, including new contract structures, international expansion, and adoption of new accounting standards
Assist in preparing materials for Audit Committee and Board meetings, ensuring concise and effective communication
Act as the primary liaison to external auditors and other external stakeholders
Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, focusing on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent to scale with Roku's growth
We're Excited if You Have
Technical Expertise
At least 15 years of experience in finance or accounting, including serving as a Controller for a publicly traded company
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including expertise in complex revenue recognition standards, accounting for joint ventures, acquisitions, and contract structures
A proven track record of maintaining financial operations and controls with precision and rigor
Industry Experience
Experience in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments, ideally within technology, media or entertainment, or advertising industries
A demonstrated ability to scale processes, controls, and financ
