A well-known, PE backed casual dining business is recruiting a Head of Commercial Finance. This is a high-profile role reporting directly to the Finance Director, with significant exposure to the executive team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping strategy, driving performance, and supporting ambitious growth plans.

You will provide the insight and analysis that underpins strategic decision-making. You will be at the heart of the business, shaping commercial strategy, driving sales growth, improving profitability, and maximising business value. A key part of your role will be to champion a data-driven approach, ensuring performance is measured transparently and effectively across the organisation. You will provide clear and accessible information that not only informs but also empowers non-financial stakeholders, enabling smarter decisions at every level.

Key responsibilities

Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment with long-term objectives.
Own the weekly and monthly performance reporting, including KPI analysis, ensuring high-quality insight and clarity.
Take ownership of menu and pricing models, including scenario analysis to inform commercial decisions.
Lead modelling and scenario planning for the Prep Kitchen to support operational efficiency and growth.
Provide insightful commercial analysis to challenge performance at both unit and executive level.
Mentor and develop the Commercial Finance Manager, building a best-in-class commercial finance function.
Deliver ad hoc analysis to support business-critical decisions.

Profile

We are looking for a commercially minded qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with a proven track record of influencing senior management through high-quality insight and analysis. You will bring strong technical skills, particularly in Excel, and have the ability to present complex financial information in a way that is quick and easy to understand. Experience of delivering budgets, forecasts, and management reporting in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is essential, while knowledge of data tools such as Power BI would be a strong advantage.

Gravitas, strong influencing skills, and a genuine interest in the restaurant and hospitality sector will set you apart as the ideal candidate for this role.
