Job Specifications

AWS Platform Lead - Contract (Hybrid / North West)

We're looking for an experienced AWS Platform Lead for a short-term contract with potential for extension. This is a hybrid role based in the North West, requiring onsite presence 2-3 days per week (non-consecutive) in the Knutsford area.

Initial Duration: 2 months (through to end of 2025)

Day Rate: PS460/day PAYE via umbrella

Location: Knutsford - must be within ~1 hour or open to relocation

Start: ASAP

Engagement: PAYE via umbrella only

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy

Lead a team of AWS engineers and cloud architects
Shape cloud adoption and migration strategies
Align cloud solutions with broader business objectives

Technical Delivery

Design and implement secure, scalable AWS infrastructure
Conduct well-architected reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
Oversee deployment, monitoring, and optimisation of AWS environment

Project & People Management

Manage timelines, resources, and technical delivery
Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to engineering teams
Work cross-functionally with DevOps, Security, and Development teams

Automation & Innovation

Drive infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
Enable CI/CD and streamline provisioning and operations
Stay current with emerging AWS services and cloud trends

Ideal Candidate:

Proven leadership in AWS environments
Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Strong grasp of CI/CD, cloud security, and performance optimisation
Able to operate in a hybrid working model and collaborate with distributed teams
