Job Specifications

Crossing Hurdles is a recruitment firm. We refer top candidates to our partners working with the world's leading AI research labs to help build and train cutting-edge AI models.

Position: Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript and Python Engineers (code agent experience)

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $70-$90/hour

Location: Remote

Duration: Minimum 2 weeks, with potential for extension

Commitment: Flexible, 10-20 hours/week with possible increase to 40 hours

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)

Use coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude code) to perform realistic coding tasks on real-world codebases supporting next-generation ML applications
Collaborate with AI research teams to build robust, high-performance software systems
Contribute to open source projects and work on sophisticated personal projects shared publicly on GitHub
Communicate clearly and precisely with team members through written and verbal means

Requirements

Extensive experience using coding agents as part of software engineering workflow
Fluency in JavaScript/TypeScript Programming Language
Strong portfolio of open source contributions and sophisticated personal projects
Excellent attention to detail and rigorous problem-solving ability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
