Job Title: Sr. Windows Systems Administrator

Location: Hybrid - Oakland or San Ramon, CA

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: $60-$85/hr (W2)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Windows Systems Administrator to support enterprise-scale Windows environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Windows Server administration, PowerShell scripting, and SCCM management, along with strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.

This is a hybrid role -- local candidates are strongly preferred. Occasional onsite meetings (quarterly) in Oakland or San Ramon are required.

Candidates based anywhere in California will be considered.

Responsibilities

Administer and support large-scale Microsoft Windows Server environments.
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks.
Perform OS maintenance, security patching, and performance tuning.
Manage virtualization environments and support in-place upgrades.
Troubleshoot Windows OS, application, and network-related issues.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Application SMEs, and third-party vendors for deployments and issue resolution.
Utilize performance analysis and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability.
Participate in planning and deployment efforts across departments and projects.

Required Experience

5+ years as a Windows Administrator in a large enterprise environment.
2-4 years with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
Expertise in Windows Server (2019-2025), Active Directory, SCCM, and PowerShell scripting.
Strong understanding of Windows OS internals, including registries, permissions, and performance management.
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, SMB, SSL/TLS, ICMP).

Nice-to-Have

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
Background in enterprise automation or DevOps practices.

Additional Info

Candidates can use a personal laptop until a PG&E-issued laptop is received.
Role requires California residency; local Bay Area candidates preferred.
