The Role
We are seeking a Platform Developer to independently design, estimate, and deliver technically excellent platform solutions. This is a hands-on, intermediate-level individual contributor role. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our core platform infrastructure, from technical design to deployment and operational maintenance, with a focus on producing high-quality, robust, and optimized systems.
Responsibilities
System Design & Implementation: Independently design and build foundational platform systems, tools, and APIs. This includes architecting scalable and secure infrastructure, automating resource provisioning, and creating the core services other development teams will use.
Full Lifecycle Ownership: Take full ownership of the development lifecycle for platform projects. Estimate project scope, plan technical tasks, and deliver high-quality code.
Automation & DevOps: Implement and manage advanced CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure a streamlined and reliable software delivery process.
Performance & Optimization: Proactively optimize platform components for performance, cost, and reliability. This includes deep technical work to ensure efficient resource utilization and system stability.
Troubleshooting: Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the platform, from deployment failures to performance bottlenecks.
Collaboration: Work autonomously while collaborating with other engineering teams to understand their needs and provide them with the tools and services necessary to build and deploy their products.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 3 years in software development, with at least 1 years focused on building and deploying large-scale platform or infrastructure systems.
Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in one or more core programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Node.js). Must have proven experience with a major cloud platform (GCP).
Platform Expertise: A deep understanding of platform engineering principles, including distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design.
DevOps/IaC: Proven hands-on experience with DevOps tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Specialized Tools: Experience with at least three of the following tools or technologies:
CI/CD: Experience building and managing continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
Cloud Run: Experience with serverless container deployment and management.
Cloud Build: Experience with building and deploying applications on Google Cloud.
Troubleshooting: Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex production issues.
Dataproc: Experience with running and managing big data jobs on Google Cloud.
Big Data Technologies: Experience with technologies like Spark.
Firebase: Experience with developing applications or platform components using Firebase.
System Design: Demonstrated ability to design and build scalable and resilient systems.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering effective technical solutions independently.
