Application/Cloud Architect - Near-site in Brussels

We are looking for an experienced Application/Cloud Architect to join a long-term project with a European public institution, supporting its information systems and cloud architecture transformation.

Location: Near-site in Brussels (hybrid)

Start Date: November 2025

Duration: 12 months (extendable)

Contract Type: Freelance

Main Responsibilities:

Design and coordinate complex application and cloud architectures.
Define integration and interoperability standards for distributed systems.
Produce architecture blueprints and documentation.
Lead migration and modernization of legacy systems to cloud environments.
Support development teams and technical leaders across multiple projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

10+ years in software architecture and design (Java-based systems).
2+ years in cloud and microservices architecture.
8+ years with interoperability technologies (web services, event architecture, message-oriented middleware).
Strong experience with relational databases, business process analysis, and modeling tools.
Knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, CDA) is an asset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural teams.
English B2 level minimum (spoken and written).

Preferred Certifications:

AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Architect - Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) - DevSecOps Professional.
