Job Specifications

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a permanent, full-time opportunity with our client based in Vancouver.

This is a fully Hybrid position, offering the chance to work with a talented engineering team on large-scale, high-availability systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of Java and experience in building scalable backend services, along with a strong commitment to clean code and high-performance systems.

Responsibilities

Design and build enterprise-scale services using Java in an agile development environment
Develop deployment systems for Java-based systems and contribute to the CI/CD pipeline
Write comprehensive unit tests and integration tests for your code
Collaborate with product owners, test teams, and other developers on system improvements and issue resolutions
Participate in monitoring and support of production systems

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Core Java development
Strong experience with multi-threaded programming, Springboot and service-oriented architecture
Proficiency in Linux and network protocols such as HTTP, TLS, TCP
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, test-driven development, and continuous integration systems
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) and big data technologies
Exposure to cloud computing, containerization, and virtualization is a plus
