We are looking for a hands-on Microsoft & Cybersecurity Engineer, providing expert support, troubleshooting, and guidance across both areas. You will act as a technical escalation point for cyber analysts and Microsoft engineers, providing guidance to colleagues. This is expected to be for a period of 8 weeks, working hours of Monday to Friday, with the customer located in Somerset.
The Role:
Support and manage Microsoft 365, Entra/Azure AD, Exchange, Active Directory, and hybrid environments
Administer Windows workstations (7, 10, 11) and Windows Servers (2008 R2 - 2025)
Manage endpoint security and monitoring tools including SentinelOne and Secureworks/Taegis (SIEM)
Oversee endpoint and server patching across the organisation
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and follow them through to resolution
Conduct research to resolve unfamiliar problems or escalated issues
Provide guidance and act as a technical escalation point for cyber analysts
The Person:
Strong experience in the Microsoft ecosystem (365, Exchange, AD, AD sync, on-premises and cloud environments)
Hands-on experience with Windows Servers and workstations
Familiarity with ManageEngine Central, SentinelOne, and SecureWorks/Taegis (SIEM)
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution.
