Job Specifications
Job description
We are seeking an Electronic Hardware Engineer to join our Engineering team at the head office. The ideal candidate will possess experience in In-Circuit Testing (ICT), strong working knowledge with microprocessors, analog and digital peripheral circuits, and low power switching power supplies.
As a development engineer, you will play a crucial role in creating innovative analog and digital products. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the engineering team to understand product concepts, drafting detailed technical requirements, designing schematics, performing PCB layouts, and testing and troubleshooting prototypes.
You will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting designs and constructing test jigs or other equipment as part of the testing process. Additionally, you will support the creation of test reports and related documentation.
Responsibilities
Collaborate on ICT fixture design and test optimization.
Design and develop hardware circuits involving microcontrollers, analog, and digital circuitry.
Schematic design, including component selection, circuit capture, DRC check, and PCBA BOM.
Board layout, including PCB stack-up definition, component placement, and detailed routing rule checking.
Design considerations for high-frequency, high-density, low-noise, and DFX-optimized products.
Build and test electronic prototypes, including board bring-up, firmware development, system reliability validation, and compliance tests (EMC/EMI, ESD).
Create and execute test plans, document results, and analyze findings.
Analyze and resolve design issues in existing and new boards during the prototype stage to meet specification requirements and delivery timelines.
Research and investigate electronic components, alternatives, costs, environmental characteristics, and revisions.
Collaborate with software teams to ensure seamless integration with hardware designs.
Qualifications
Degree in Electronics Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design.
Experience with microcontrollers.
Knowledge of C++ for firmware development and board bring-up using ARM-MBED, STM32CubeMX, Keil, and Arduino IDE for rapid prototyping.
Experience with analog and digital sensors, peripheral circuits, and low power switching power supplies.
Advanced prototyping skills, including breadboarding, manual assembly, soldering fine-pitch SMT and through-hole components, and making wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
The capability to manage time effectively and work within set deadlines is required.
Valuable Qualifications
Strong oral and written communication skills and good listening abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Exceptional laboratory skills and problem-solving techniques.
Basic proficiency with mechanical prototyping tools such as calipers, drills, saws, grinders, files, and various hand tools.
Self-motivation, discipline, and a high drive for results, with the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
