Backend Software Engineer (Node.js)

Contract | Remote | PS400 per day | Outside IR35 | 2 months

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer with strong Node.js expertise to join a short-term project supporting a large transport organisation. The role will focus on developing and improving their booking system, ensuring scalability and performance across a high-traffic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js
Collaborate with front-end and DevOps teams to deliver robust solutions
Optimise existing systems for reliability and efficiency
Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions within a small, agile team

Requirements

Proven commercial experience with Node.js
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and backend architecture
Experience working on large-scale, production-level applications
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Contract Details

Duration: 2 months
Rate: PS400 per day
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Location: Remote (UK-based candidates only)
