Senior ServiceNow Developer
Location: Texas
General Description:
As a Senior ServiceNow Administrator/Developer, you will help move business operations into the future by automating processes through gathering requirements, configuring/developing, testing, deploying, and supporting software releases. This role requires a highly trained and experienced technology expert who is a self-starter and thrives in a collaborative environment. You'll work with a ServiceNow team to improve organizational needs while working under minimal direction with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Service Management / ServiceNow Administration & Development - 55%
Provide technical leadership for ServiceNow system enhancements and process improvements.
Analyze complex problems, design maintainable solutions, and build/code solutions in the ServiceNow platform to address customer needs.
Conduct code reviews to ensure system integrity.
Maintain existing applications and implement additional applications.
Work with Client Scripts, Business Rules, Data Policies, and Access Control Lists.
Write SQL reports/queries and upgrade the ServiceNow Platform on a regular basis.
Provide technical support to ServiceNow Administrators and business unit personnel in executing and managing test processes.
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot, develop mitigation plans, and ensure ongoing resolution of issues.
Release Management - 20%
Oversee release activities of assigned applications with all appropriate areas including business customers.
Identify deliverables, verify readiness, and coordinate execution.
Determine the cause of application/environment issues and implement appropriate resolutions.
Technical Requirements, Analysis, Documentation & Education - 15%
Gather technical requirements and author plans, goals, and objectives to support business needs.
Develop solutions, present system options, and document processes for team and customer use.
Maintain technical knowledge of relevant updates and new technologies.
Conduct research and analyze applications to meet current needs.
Technical Research and Evaluation - 5%
Conduct research on new software development methodologies and technologies.
Analyze and evaluate their application to current needs.
Departmental Support - 5%
Perform related work as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
High School diploma or equivalent with additional full-time technical experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
Experience
Five (5) years of experience in Software Development Lifecycle Methodology including software analysis, development, implementation, and documentation.
Two (2) years of experience in ServiceNow administration and application implementation (e.g., Change, Incident, Service Catalog).
Three (3) years of experience with Strategic Portfolio Management.
Registration, Certification, or Licensure
None required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.
Skill in:
Project management and process improvement
Four (4) years of experience in ServiceNow or other ITSM tools
Service management, workflow training, and documentation development
Development in client-side technologies (JavaScript, AngularJS, etc.)
Implementation of single sign-on
Upgrading ServiceNow
Overseeing and managing enterprise change control processes
Providing customer service in an IT environment (3+ years)
