Job Specifications

We are currently looking for two experienced consultants to strengthen our client's development team. If you have strong expertise in EGL and COBOL, combined with a good understanding of a banking-specific mainframe environment, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

As part of the development team, your core responsibilities will include:

Designing, writing, and maintaining high-quality EGL/COBOL code
Performing thorough testing activities, including:
Unit testing
Integration testing
Supporting regression, user acceptance (UAT), and end-to-end (E2E) testing
Debugging and solving software issues across development and production environments
Preparing code and systems for deployment, ensuring smooth delivery pipelines

Technical Environment & Best Practices

You'll be expected to work within a highly structured IT environment, adhering to standardized procedures and security protocols. This includes:

Following established development and deployment practices, including code reviews, test-driven development, and secure coding standards
Writing and maintaining technical documentation such as design specifications and API references
Ensuring all software developed complies with modern security requirements

Your Profile

Our client is seeking professionals who bring:

Proven expertise in EGL and COBOL development
Familiarity with enterprise-scale mainframe platforms, particularly in banking contexts
A disciplined, detail-oriented approach to software quality and security
Strong collaboration and communication skills

Practical

Language requirements: Fluency in English, Dutch is highly preferred.
Able to work onsite in Brussels, combined with teleworking (not fully remote!)
