Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Software Engineer 3. The work will be done onsite at our client’s facility in East Peoria, IL (Building AD), Monday through Friday, 1st shift. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is $56.37/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Advanced Materials Technology (AMT) division, supporting global manufacturing operations and heat treat systems. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain manufacturing software applications and industrial data solutions that drive production efficiency and technological innovation. You’ll work with a collaborative software team supporting production and engineering environments while developing new tools and optimizing existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, document, and implement software architecture for manufacturing support systems
• Capture and analyze system requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
• Develop and maintain C# applications, including WinForms/WPF UIs and background services
• Integrate software with enterprise databases and reporting tools (Oracle, SQL Server, Power BI)
• Administer databases, troubleshoot performance issues, and manage reporting platforms
• Implement and manage software security, including SAML-based access control
• Support and enhance SCADA systems and industrial applications (FTOptix, Wonderware)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to agile development cycles
• Lead initiatives for new technology adoption in industrial software environments
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• 5–7 years of professional software development experience
• Strong programming skills in C# with WinForms or WPF
• Proficiency with Oracle and SQL Server database development and administration
• Experience using Git or similar source control systems
• Strong understanding of Windows OS administration and PowerShell scripting
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Power BI or data visualization experience
• Exposure to Python, AI/ML, or data analytics tools
• Experience with SCADA, FTOptix, or Wonderware Archestra
• Familiarity with UML, software regression testing, and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Understanding of operational technology cybersecurity principles
• Experience in manufacturing environments or industrial automation
