Directory Service Engineer (Remote – EST Hours)
Overview:
Our client, a Fortune 500 media and technology company, is seeking a Directory Service Engineer to join their Security Services organization. This team plays a key role in ensuring enterprise-wide identity, directory, and encryption services are reliable, scalable, and secure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Active Directory, Ping Directory Services, and domain controller management, as well as a strong understanding of IAM and network security principles.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Active Directory (primary) and Ping Directory Services (secondary) across multiple environments, ensuring directory synchronization and identity reliability.
Administer and troubleshoot domain controllers and DNS-related infrastructure issues.
Collaborate with IAM, Network, and Application teams to ensure proper identity access and encryption controls are in place.
Participate in quarterly planning/whiteboarding sessions to align with enterprise architecture standards.
Support infrastructure readiness and service reliability for identity and directory systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, automation, and documentation of directory operations.
Ensure adherence to security frameworks, policies, and best practices for user access and authentication.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of hands-on experience managing Active Directory and/or Ping Directory Services (LDAP, directory synchronization, replication, GPOs, and domain management).
Proficiency with DNS, domain controllers, and related infrastructure components.
Solid conceptual understanding of IAM, PKI, and encryption technologies.
Exposure to network security, SOC, or DevSecOps principles is highly desirable.
Experience supporting large-scale, multi-network or global environments.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Self-starter who can work independently and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.

Employment Type: W2 Contract w/ potential for FT conversion
Location: Remote (preference for EST working hours)
Travel: Occasional (quarterly team planning sessions)
Hours: Standard 8–5 EST
