Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to person centered care in a CMHT, where the expectations of the work will be broad and varied. You will be joining a friendly multidisciplinary team with great prospects for developing a good range of skills whilst in a supportive and dynamic environment. Our service aims to promote an optimum level of recovery, independence and social inclusion for each individual.

We have two posts available; one to work in the North Community Mental Health Team, on a permanent basis. The permanent hours are 0.62 WTE for B8a, or as a B7 this would be 0.73 WTE hours.

The other post is to work in the South Community Mental Health Team, on a fixed term basis. The temporary hours are 0.8 for a B8a, or as a B7 this would be 0.93 WTE hours.

We would consider applications from candidates wishing to apply for either a B7 or a B8a position in either of these teams. We attach Job Descriptions and Person Specifications for both Bands.

Please state on your application whether you are applying for the B7 or B8a position, and tailor your application for the relevant Person Specification.

Please state if you wish to be considered for the permanent or the fixed term posts, including if you are happy to be considered for both.

We would encourage candidates to make contact with us in advance of applying to discuss these options further.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT) to work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.

You should be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm and willingness to work proactively in both multi-disciplinary teams and within a multi-agency context. This role provides excellent opportunities for developing your skills in both direct and indirect team working, within a supportive team of experienced psychological therapists.

The job will involve working alongside experienced MDT colleagues to offer one-to-one evidence-based psychological interventions to service users and their families, contributing to and delivering group work. The role also includes joint and indirect work with colleagues (team formulation, staff training, support and consultation around psychological issues); and appropriate audit, service development, evaluation and research activities as required.

The post will suit a candidate with experience of work with adults with complex presentations, such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, complex trauma and personality difficulties. The psychological therapies team includes both clinical psychologists and CBT psychotherapists who offer a range of interventions including CAT, CBT, EMDR, ACT, family work, DBT-informed work, and CFT. The post would provide excellent opportunities in terms of developing specialist skills in psychological models of care.
