Functional Analyst (Data Centre & Systems Migration – Large-Scale Integration) – Freelance

A leading European logistics and infrastructure organisation has recently acquired two new entities and is embarking on a major IT migration programme. We are seeking a Functional Analyst to join this strategic initiative on a freelance basis.

You will play a key role in analysing, planning and facilitating the migration of data centres, applications and systems from the acquired entities to the organisation’s central IT hub – ensuring seamless integration and business continuity.

The objective of this role is to gather and translate business and technical requirements, support migration planning and execution, and act as a bridge between stakeholders, IT teams and the acquired entities throughout the transition.

The Functional Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, infrastructure teams and application owners to capture requirements, define functional specifications and ensure a smooth migration without disruption to critical operations.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements for data centre and system migration.
Conduct workshops and stakeholder interviews with internal teams and the acquired entities.
Map as-is IT environments and define to-be landscapes aligned with organisational standards.
Translate business needs into functional specifications for infrastructure and application teams.
Identify dependencies, risks and gaps in data, processes or systems and propose mitigation strategies.
Support testing, validation and cut-over activities to ensure functional integrity post-migration.
Act as a functional point of contact throughout the migration lifecycle.

Profile

3–5+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, ideally in large-scale migration or integration projects.
Solid understanding of data centre operations, system consolidation and migration best practices.
Experience in mapping processes and translating business requirements into actionable specifications.
Familiarity with change management in complex IT environments.
Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.
Fluent in English (Dutch or French a plus).

LOCATION: Belgium (Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite)
HOURS PER WEEK: 40
