Job Title: Project Planner (Primavera P6)

Contract Length: 6 months (scope for extension)

Rate: £500/day (Inside IR35)

Location: Hybrid – UK-based (occasional travel to client/customer sites)

Role Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced Project Planner with a strong background in software or IT projects (non-construction/engineering) and hands-on expertise in Primavera P6. You’ll provide consultancy support to Project Managers and technical teams, helping to build, monitor, and maintain detailed project plans across complex programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain resourced project plans using Primavera P6
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Resource Managers to ensure accurate scheduling and resource allocation
Support earned value reporting, critical path analysis, and project costing
Contribute to bids and proposals, mobilization planning, and engineering development stages
Ensure plans are aligned with SAP integration and company planning standards
Provide guidance to junior planners and support PMO reporting

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a planning role within software or IT development environments
Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
Solid understanding of project management principles and lifecycle planning
Experience with earned value management and risk analysis tools (e.g., Monte Carlo)
Ability to challenge and support project teams on resource and schedule accuracy

Qualifications:

Degree in Project Management, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Desirable: APM Practitioner, Prince2 certification

Proactive communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
Detail-oriented, resilient, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Comfortable working independently and contributing to team success
