Sterlings are excited to partner with a Tier 1 Investment Bank as they look to expand their Electronic Trading Technology division in London.

This is a senior engineering, hands-on technical leadership role for the EMEA region – yours and the team’s focus will be on the engineering and development of several algorithmic engines that support benchmark algos, smart order routing and internal crossing, serving the global electronic business with a focus on Equities.

Apart from a continuous stream of strategy improvements, brand new trading strategies & enhancements and regulatory requirements, the team is also working on various framework-related items and is embarking on the design and build of new Sequencer Architecture. The underlying platform has been built on Java with next-generation, ground-breaking low latency and high throughput at the heart of the application.

The team have great relationships with the business, and naturally, the position entails working in close collaboration with Traders and Quants, as such a person with prior business-facing responsibilities is required and a solid appreciation of all aspects of the SDLC.

The team in the UK consists of approximately 12 members, including BA’s, QA’s, and developers, although you'll be partnering with a wider global team as well.

Key Requirements:

Core Java experience - Low Latency
E-Trading/Algo trading functional and technical knowledge
Tech or project leadership experience
