Job Specifications

We're scaling an EdTech platform from 20K to 200K students and need a versatile developer who can ship features across the stack. You'll primarily focus on frontend development while also contributing to backend APIs, database work, and platform maintenance--working alongside senior engineers on a small, mission-driven team.

Stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, Postgres (Supabase), AWS

What You'll Do

Frontend (Primary Focus - ~60-70% of time)

Build and ship user-facing features for our learning management platform and new product launch
Implement responsive, accessible interfaces with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
Collaborate with designers to translate mockups into production code
Work with senior frontend engineers to implement design systems and component libraries

Backend & Platform (~30-40% of time)

Write API endpoints and serverless functions (Next.js API routes, AWS Lambda)
Implement database queries and schema changes (Postgres via Supabase)
Monitor application performance and assist with routine optimization tasks
Support deployment workflows and basic cloud infrastructure maintenance
Work under guidance of senior engineers on platform scaling initiatives

Team Collaboration & Support

Coach and mentor junior developers through code reviews and pair programming
Create and maintain technical documentation for features and systems
Support and enhance our legacy learning management system (Engage)
Participate in technical discussions and contribute to process improvements
Help maintain CI/CD pipelines and development workflows

What We're Looking For

3-5 years professional experience building production web applications
Strong frontend skills: Proficiency with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks
Backend fundamentals: Comfortable writing Node.js APIs, SQL queries, and working with REST/GraphQL
Full-feature ownership: You've built and shipped features from UI through database
Self-sufficient: You can work autonomously on well-defined tasks while seeking guidance when needed
Collaborative: You thrive in a small team environment and learn quickly from more experienced engineers
Bonus: Experience with AWS, serverless architectures, or EdTech applications

You Don't Need to Be an Expert in Everything

We're looking for someone stronger in frontend who can contribute meaningfully to backend work--not a platform architect. You'll work alongside senior engineers who will provide guidance on complex backend challenges while you focus on shipping features.
