CTO / Lead Engineer – React / Node / Python – Edinburgh (Hybrid)

Meraki Talent have partnered exclusively with an ambitious Scale Up who, after some recent investment, are looking to expand their operations in Edinburgh.

This business is on an exciting journey and as part of the next stage, they are looking for a highly experienced Lead Engineer to help drive them forward, ultimately to take up a CTO appointment to work in partnership with the CIO. From there, the business is looking towards this individual to build a team of experienced developers.

This is a hands-on position that will require you to contribute from a coding standpoint so the ability and desire to be hands on is essential. You will be able to work in a scale-up tech environment which will fast paced and ever changing.

Technical Experience

Front End: React / Next experience would be preferable - can be open on other front-end frameworks, but this is preferred.
Back End: Node / Python – Node is used for application back end whereas Python is used for Data, APIs, Workflows etc.
Database – Postgres / DuckDB / Parquet
Public cloud experience

Please note: As they scale the business, they are looking for this person to be a Leader within the business. Therefore, want someone to be visible and in the office. Especially when building out a new Engineering team.
