Vision Talent's client is a leading Canadian bank, they are seeking a Technical Lead/SDM for an initial 12 month contract term.
They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Lead/Software Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team of 7-8 software engineers, primarily based offshore.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving end-to-end project delivery, managing deployments, and ensuring the successful execution of high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders, to align technical strategies with business goals. Additionally, you will oversee the adoption and application of the team's core technology stack, which includes Java, the Spring Framework, Vue.js, Docker, Kubernetes, and other modern tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a distributed team of offshore software engineers, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with project goals.
Manage the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Drive the successful delivery of projects by ensuring timelines, quality, and scope are met.
Oversee end-to-end deployments, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production environments.
Provide technical guidance and support to the team in the core technology stack, including the Spring Framework for backend development, Vue.js for frontend development, and containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in successfully leading and managing distributed or offshore software development teams, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery across time zones.
Extensive technical expertise in software engineering, system architecture, design, and deployment processes, with a strong focus on technologies such as Java, Spring Framework, Vue.js, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Provide expert technical guidance on database design, optimization, and management for?relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
Oversee and support frontend and backend development efforts to deliver high-quality, user-centric interfaces.
This is a hybrid environment with 3 days/week required on site downtown.
