Cloud Operations Team Leader – AWS / Terraform / CI/CD

Location: Northampton - 2 days on site

The Role

We’re looking for a Cloud Operations Team Leader to manage and optimise our cloud infrastructure and lead a skilled engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role balancing strategic planning with technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Engineers.
Oversee day-to-day cloud operations: monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
Implement and improve Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub Actions.
Support development teams through CI/CD pipelines.
Drive cloud security, governance, compliance, and cost optimisation (FinOps).
Plan and deliver projects using Agile methodologies.
Explore AI-driven approaches to infrastructure automation.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years hands-on experience with AWS.
Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Proven leadership or team management experience in a technical environment.
Solid understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Knowledge of cloud cost management and performance monitoring.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
