Working with one of our top financial institutions, this role calls for a Data Analyst - (Home Financing / HELOCs / Mortgages ) with strong technical expertise in SQL, SAS, and data visualization, coupled with deep analytical and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will collaborate across business and technology teams to design, develop, and implement analytical solutions that support data-driven decision-making in home financing, HELOC, and mortgage products.
Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business groups, providing data insights and analytical support.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of analytical and reporting solutions.
Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, inform business decisions, and enhance operational efficiency.
Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate data-driven insights.
Translate strategic problems into analytical solutions through advanced data modeling, cleansing, and transformation.
Build and automate validation tests to improve the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of analytical outputs.
Recommend and implement solutions based on data analysis and business impact.
Develop self-serve analytics and promote a data-driven decision-making culture across teams.
Support user acceptance testing, monitor tool performance, and ensure the accuracy of reporting outputs.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define business requirements and deliver analytical outcomes.
Document and maintain operational procedures for analytical and reporting processes.
Provide training and guidance to end users on reporting tools and self-service analytics.
Develop tools and dashboards to measure performance, track key metrics, and enable better business insights.
Work independently and proactively identify opportunities for process automation and data improvement.
Desired Skill Set:
5+ years of relevant data analytics experience in a business or financial setting.
Strong proficiency in SQL and SAS (SAS certification preferred).
Proven ability in data preparation, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or Finance (or equivalent experience).
Hands-on experience with data mining, data storytelling, and reporting automation.
Understanding of measurement techniques such as A/B testing and treatment-control frameworks.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.
Nice to Have:
Previous experience in home financing, HELOCs, or mortgage analytics (especially in a banking environment).
Experience with RESL analytics.
Strong knowledge of R, Python, Power BI, and PowerPoint for advanced analytics and reporting.
Prior banking industry experience and familiarity with financial products.
Experience leading analytical projects or mentoring junior analysts.
