Job Title:

Director, Cybersecurity, North America & Global SOC Leader

Overview:

Join a fast-growing, global specialty pharmaceutical company as a visionary Cybersecurity leader overseeing North America and spearheading our worldwide Security Operations Center (SOC). This high-impact role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise, empowering you to protect critical intellectual property, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold patient trust. As a key executive, you will lead regional cybersecurity initiatives, foster a unified cyber defense posture, and collaborate across borders to stay ahead of emerging threats—all while evolving a security-first culture in a highly regulated environment.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 12 years’ progressive cybersecurity experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
Strong background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or highly regulated industries
Certified CISSP and CISM required
Expertise in Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, SOC leadership, and detection engineering
Extensive knowledge of Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP), IAM, Zero Trust architectures
Deep understanding of GRC frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and regulations including HIPAA, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11
Proven ability to lead teams, influence senior executives, and manage global security programs
Experience in OT/ICS security in manufacturing or laboratory environments
Effective cross-functional collaborator with legal, compliance, and operations teams

Nice to Have Skills:

Additional certifications such as CRISC, CISA, CCSK/CCSP, GICSP
Experience with threat hunting, automation, and advanced analytics
Familiarity with vendor management and managed security services
Fluency in Japanese or experience working with Japanese counterparts

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or relevant field
Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred
Prior experience in life sciences, biotech, or pharma sectors
10% international travel, including visits to Japan

Other Requirements:

Ability to work in a hybrid environment (twice weekly in-office in Princeton, NJ)
Willingness to work after hours occasionally to support Japan hours and global incident response
Up to 10% domestic and international travel
