Immersum are partnering with a pioneering UK business that’s redefining how clean tech is delivered nationwide. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a fast-scaling software platform and lead a talented engineering team through an exciting phase of growth and innovation.

The Role

As Head of Software, you’ll lead and inspire a growing engineering organisation (approx. 10 people), with three team leads reporting directly to you. You’ll balance strategy with delivery — ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and commercially aligned while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Working closely with Product and senior stakeholders, you’ll shape the long-term technology roadmap, drive engineering excellence, and enable innovation across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic and technical leadership across the software organisation.
Build, mentor, and scale high-performing product engineering teams.
Champion best practice in testing, security, and delivery.
Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical delivery with business objectives.
Balance hands-on technical insight with leadership and coaching.
Explore opportunities to enhance productivity through AI and automation.

About You

Proven experience leading software teams in a scaling tech or product-led environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
Ability to translate business goals into clear technical priorities.
Passion for innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
