Our client within the local authority is seeking a visionary leader for the role of Assistant Director – Digital Transformation Lead to drive its digital transformation efforts. The role involves developing and implementing digital strategies, leading IT initiatives, advising senior leadership, and fostering innovation to improve public services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in digital and IT transformation within large organisations, strong strategic and project management skills, and relevant qualifications, including optional ITIL certification. This position offers a chance to significantly impact the organisation’s digital future and service delivery.

Essential Experience:
Extensive experience in developing and implementing successful digital transformation and IT strategies.
A strong history of managing complex programmes and projects that deliver measurable improvements.
Proven ability to lead and communicate transformational change effectively.
Proficiency with programme and project management tools.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Deep understanding of digital transformation, IT operations, and performance management.
Knowledge of strategic digital models, including cloud solutions and 'digital by default' principles.
Ability to identify key opportunities and drivers for organizational growth and improvement.
Strong analytical skills to assess programmes and develop innovative, practical solutions.

Qualifications:
Degree-level education or equivalent.
Relevant professional or postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience.
ITIL certification is desirable.
