The Role

Xos is looking for an IT Helpdesk Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience supporting day-to-day operations. In this Internship, you'll provide first-level technical support to employees, assist with workstation setups, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to IT projects.

This part-time internship (4-8 hours per week, ideally across two days) is designed for students or recent graduates who want to grow their skills in a professional IT environment supporting a manufacturing facility. You'll gain hands-on experience, learn directly from experienced IT staff, and collaborate on real-world projects. Along the way, you'll develop practical skills in troubleshooting, documentation, and system management, all while contributing to a supportive and collaborative team culture.

This is an onsite internship based at our Byrdstown, TN Manufacturing Plant**

What You'll Do

Provide initial technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
Assist with workstation setup, deployment of IT equipment, and inventory tracking.
Install and configure operating systems (Windows, macOS), applications, and peripheral devices.
Log, track, and resolve support requests in our IT ticketing system.
Document troubleshooting steps and create user guides for our knowledge base.
Contribute to IT projects such as system upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
Perform system updates, patches, and software installations.
Support basic networking troubleshooting, including connectivity and IP configuration.
Communicate with users in a professional, supportive, and patient manner.
Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when needed.
Additional duties and projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree or certification program in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of computer systems, networks, and applications.
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Chat, Drive, etc) preferred.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Clear and professional communication skills.
A customer-service mindset with patience and adaptability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to lift, pull, push, up to 30-50lbs
