About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst/Developer to join our team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, development, and integration within banking and financial services. This role requires expertise in Linux shell scripting, SQL, stored procedures, and MS SQL utilities, along with experience using IBM Datastage for ETL processes. Knowledge of corporate/commercial lending systems such as ACBS or AFS is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using IBM Datastage.
Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and MS SQL utilities (e.g., BCP) for high-volume data processing.
Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts to automate data workflows.
Collaborate with business, QA, and development teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
Participate in data modeling and database design for complex banking applications.
Use GitHub for code versioning, collaboration, and deployment.
Manage and track tasks, issues, and documentation using ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence.
Optional: Leverage knowledge of ACBS, AFS, or other corporate/commercial lending systems to support loan platform reporting and analytics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
7–10 years of experience in data analysis and development in Banking/Financial Services.
Strong expertise in SQL, MS SQL Server, stored procedures, and database utilities.
Experience with Linux shell scripting and automation of data processes.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools, particularly IBM Datastage.
Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and GitHub for project management and code collaboration.
Ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of corporate/commercial lending platforms such as ACBS, AFS, or LoanIQ.
Experience with data modeling, data profiling, and reporting for loan systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and integration with SQL/ETL pipelines.
Prior experience in financial services, banking operations, or regulatory reporting projects.
