About the Role:

As a Financial Reporting STAT Intern, you’ll be an integral part of a collaborative, agile team. You’ll design, analyze, and implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and exceed expectations. The Intern reports to the Manager, Statutory Reporting and can be based out of our Topeka or Overland Park, Kansas office. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.

Assist in preparing statutory financial statements and reports.
Support the reconciliation of accounts and ensure accurate financial data.
Participate in the preparation of regulatory filings.
Analyze and compile financial data for audits.
Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
Maintain and organize financial records.

What We’re Looking For:

Students eligible for the internship will be current, full-time students available to work at least 19 hours a week, beginning December/January and continuing throughout the end of May. The intern will be expected to work during and between semesters. This is not a summer internship.

Full-time student in accounting and/or finance with at least a 3.0 GPA in majors. Current junior or senior preferred.
Willingness to develop industry-related knowledge.
Proficient with MS Excel and Word.
Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills.
Ability to think objectively and analytically.
Ability to work with various levels of management.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
