The Financial Operations team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our dynamic group. Job Summary:

As a Financial Operations Intern, you will play a key role in the day-to-day activities of the Commissions team. You’ll support managers and staff with critical operational tasks that require precision, analytical thinking, and organizational skills. Throughout the internship, you’ll gain exposure to multiple systems and processes while learning how Valmark conducts business and compensates its registered representatives. This role provides an excellent foundation for students interested in pursuing careers in finance, operations, or data analytics.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain data related to Agent of Record (AOR) changes, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems
Monitor, update, and correct representative codes tied to accounts involved in AOR changes
Support reconciliation efforts for Third-Party Money Manager accounts, collaborating with external vendors to resolve discrepancies
Assist with reconciling commission payments that were processed incorrectly
Verify account statuses across multiple systems to ensure timely and accurate commission processing
Contribute to a variety of special projects aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations

Requirements:

Candidates must be currently enrolled in college seeking a degree. Degrees such as Business Administration, Finance, or Business Data Analytics are preferred, but not required. Candidates mut be available to commit 16-24 hours per week onsite in Akron, OH during the fall/spring semesters and 25-40 hours per week onsite in Akron, OH during the summer months.

Pay: $18 per hour
