About The Role
Synexus is seeking a highly skilled Intelligence Data Analyst to join its in-house Intelligence Team. This role is pivotal in developing, delivering, and continuously improving Synexus’s suite of intelligence products—tools designed to help clients navigate risks and ensure brand safety within the online ecosystem. The ideal candidate will combine analytical expertise with product ownership, applying digital forensic skills to monitor and interpret media manipulation, disinformation campaigns, and adversarial narratives across the open web and social platforms. As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for creating innovative technical solutions, managing the full lifecycle of intelligence products, and translating complex insights into actionable recommendations for clients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of online disinformation analysis, contributing to impactful products that improve media trustworthiness and brand safety.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of disinformation and information security challenges
Proficiency in SQL and data normalization techniques
Experience with web scraping and crawling using Python or JavaScript (libraries such as Scrapy, Playwright, BeautifulSoup, Selenium)
Understanding of technical scraping challenges, including privacy regulations, WAFs, proxies, IP rotation, and anti-tracking measures
Experience with consuming and integrating data via APIs from third-party sources
Basic NLP skills for data extraction, including Named Entity Recognition, Topic Modeling, and Sentiment Analysis, preferably in Python
Professional fluency in English
Responsibilities
Design and implement inventive technical methods to accelerate intelligence team deliverables
Develop and document repeatable workflows, playbooks, and quality assurance processes to ensure product consistency and reliability
Identify operational bottlenecks and data quality issues, proposing scalable solutions to enhance efficiency
Create automated intelligence collection solutions and ad-hoc coding to address specific collection challenges
Manage the full lifecycle of one or more intelligence products, from initial definition and development to delivery and ongoing iteration
Define product goals, requirements, and success metrics aligned with strategic and client needs
Drive adoption, growth, and client engagement for owned products, translating feedback into improvements
Collaborate closely with the Data Team to integrate client feedback, refine machine learning models, and ensure output accuracy
Maintain awareness of adversarial narratives, disinformation networks, and media manipulation tactics across digital platforms
Generate analytical reports, briefings, and insights for internal and external stakeholders
Support data model training, product refinement, and content classification systems with ongoing intelligence input
